A Whole Handful!

Five years ago today, Beniah came in and rocked our world.

It has been amazing watching this adorable baby boy grow into a fact absorbing little boy... excuse me... BIG boy who does not like being called a little boy.

He is so creative and is constantly telling me, "Mama, I have a present for you!" and hands me the drawing that he was working on. Sometimes it's a red dot in the middle of the page and other times it's a sweet note from him.

It reads "I (upside down) heart you"

He is very inquisitive and asks questions that keeps my tired pregnancy brain in overdrive.
"Mama, how high does 10,000 Daddys, 5 Mamas, 200 Beniahs, and 1 Elijah reach?"
(FYI - That would be 10.35 miles which would barely reach up to the stratosphere. The poor suckers at the top wouldn't be able to breathe due to the lack of oxygen. Yes, my exhausted mind went there. No, I did not share that bit of information with Beniah.)
"Mama, why did God create penguins?"
"Mama, could twins be born on different days? Could they be born in different months?"

His favorite topic is space.  He has gone to the bookshelf and pulled my college astronomy textbook out and read through some of it and looked at the pictures. Grandpa and Grandma bought him some space books for his birthday which he read for over an hour this evening. (Hence why I am actually blogging about his birthday on his birthday!)

Beniah is all goofiness and laughter and is a "teaser just like Daddy!"

Beniah, our whole handful of a boy, we love you very, very much and are so happy that you are a part of our family!

My Forever Handprints

A couple of days ago when I was cleaning my bathroom in anticipation of company for the weekend, I noticed some small little hand prints clinging to the bathroom mirror.  Being the sentimental person that I am, I snapped a picture of them with my phone and sent it off to Tim saying, "These are so cute! I am kind of sad to wash them away." (Don't worry, I did wash the mirror although it's difficult to tell all ready!)  Since Tim had a massively busy week at work, he didn't have time in the evenings to take the boys out to buy me something for Mother's Day, so he gathered card stock, paint, a ton of wet wipes, and two somewhat leery boys to craft me my Mother's Day gift. I am happy that it turned out this way since I was able to snap photos of the process.

Apparently, it is hilarious when Daddy talks about eating paint.

It's such a labor of love to put your hand in gooey paint.

Elijah wasn't too impressed with the feel of paint either.

Both boys were so proud of their hand prints and I love my gift!
Now to go pick up some frames to place them in.

Sunday School

Yesterday, Tim and I had the fun privilege of teaching our sons' nursery Sunday school class. Since I happened to bring my camera, I couldn't resist snapping a couple of photos of my boys.

Elijah saw that his Daddy put a crayon behind his ear and desperately wanted to put his crayon there too.

Beniah has become very proud of his artwork and was so excited to show his picture to my parents who were visiting us for the weekend.

Sicky Sunday

Today, we stayed home from church, slept in, and have yet to get out of our pjs all because of this cold that the boys have. At one point this morning, Beniah wanted to get onto the computer to type on his Word document and Elijah was very upset until I realized that he wanted to be at the table like his big brother.

This is the first time he has colored and seemed to really enjoy it until I took the crayon away because he kept trying to eat it.
